My Convictions

I have enough lucidity to sense the truth of the fact that time also stumbled and had accidents and could therefore splinter and leave an eternalized fragment.

I understand that it takes a billion years to create a human being and a few seconds to die.

I believe that fantasy and reality are not running in parallel and will cross each other's path one day.

I think that it is far more likely that there was nothing at all. Then, at least, no one would have begun asking why there was nothing, or something. If nothing existed, no one would yearn for anything at all.

I need strength, so much so that the mere existence of being created is nothing compared to the overwhelming sensation of conjuring onself out of zilch and standing on one's own two feet.

When we die, we become phantoms in our descendant's memories. We are ghosts, then myths. But still we're together, a past together. Under the mysterious dome of the past, I will still hear all your voices.

I don't want to be the first for anything, because ultimately, the first is also the last.

Why did it take so long for us to applaud the Big Bang anyway?

Who am I?

I'm feeling extremely anxious and angsty. *stab*

What a sweet relief!

I'm awfully glad to have been there to see her face lighten up with that saccharine smile of hers as she walked out.

The weight of uncertainty has now been lifted. Thank goodness.

No Comfort in the Waiting Room

...Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines
In a place where we only say goodbye
It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend
On a faulty camera in our minds
And I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose
Than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground
As the TV entertained itself

‘Cause there’s no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news...

Andy Warhol's "One Blue Pussy" and "Green Cat"

Just a recap on the prints that I intend to purchase as soon as I've revamped my room, which seems like it's never going to happen because I don't really have much time or energy to do so. There are two pictures waiting to be framed as I'm writing now and I've been procrastinating since I've got them. Wonder if it'll ever happen.

I remember having written a list in my Livejournal before, so here's a recap of it (for my own reference):

The one print I've been so wanting to own (besides any prints by Mark Ryden which I'll kill to have) and that is too expensive, is the same title as this blog - In Her Silent Way by Joe Sorren:

Mmmmm. No money no print, baby. The last time I checked the price of the original print at Houtre was $970. And that was almost 3 years ago. I'll scrap the idea of owning the original one.

Next, Andy Warhol's "One Blue Pussy" and "Green Cat", which I have just purchased online because Blogspot was down and so I spent my time deliberating between these two prints and a few others.

Can't wait. Hehe. Another print I must have:

National Day

Day of the week: Wednesday..National Day
No. of cigarettes smoked: 2 sticks
Music playing on iTunes: I Wish You Love by Chet Baker
No. of hours slept: 5hrs
Munching on: a Swiss roll

Currently in the office blasting music while waiting for my colleague to arrive. Reached my office about half an hour earlier than the said time and am feeling damn sleepy. Spent a gorgeous night with my Bunny, where we had wine, watched a bit of Alfie and shared a Davidoff cigar (of course she's the one who finished most of the cigar and wine). Hmmm, I've also found myself a lullaby song. Feeling extremely satiated now.

I'm starting to realize that playing jazz music when you're all alone in the office isn't a good thing after all. I'm becoming very sensitive to every single sound around me, knowing that this place is haunted. Urgh. I hope my colleague arrives soon.

I'm craving for Maccers and some sleep.

Oh, and Happy National Day to the Singaporeans. Hmm.

My funny valentine
Sweet comic valentine
You make me smile with my heart
Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet youre my favourite work of art

Is your figure less than greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?

But dont change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little valentine stay
Each day is valentine's day

I'm watching you....Opera 9.0 user. Haha.

August '06 - Shanghai

My first business trip: Shanghai. Hope there won't be too many business trips in the near future as you can't believe how tiring it can be. Although the meeting was only for 1 day, my midnight flight to Shanghai almost killed me.

Upon arriving, I went straight to the hotel for a shower and then to the office for a meeting that ended at 6.30pm. I knew I was facing a lot of stress even before flying and my Bunny had a good dose of my ranting before I went to the airport. I was almost breaking down into tears during the dinner with the GMs and MD, and I guess the more alcohol I consumed (slowly of course), the more relaxed I became. Guess the initial shock from the Japanese corporate culture was too much to bear.

We headed towards a bar that night that featured girls dancing and performing on a double storey stage. Hmm, I must say Shanghainese girls are rather pretty. Hehe. We found the nightlife in Shanghai to be more entertaining than Singapore's, in a different way. Too bad I don't have pictures to show.

Very nice of Daren to give me the next day off so that I can catch up on some sleep. Otherwise, I guess I will be stumbling my way to the office and onto the plane back home. The weather in Shanghai is unbearable and definitely way hotter than how it is in Singapore. I think heat is ok, but the pollution there made it worse.

A typical Shanghai cab - the notice states that, "Any psychos or drunkards should be accompanied by another passenger.." I found that to be very amusing. Haha.

Daren said I took this just in case I got kidnapped. Lol. That wasn't my intention.

Phew. Thank god the hotel was decent.

And here are some random pics:

...and a panoramic view from the office.

As you can tell, it's really hazy there. Plus the windows were dirty. Tsk, what a waste we didn't have much time to explore the place more. Perhaps next time...but for now, I'm glad I'm back in sunny Singapore.
