I'm an Idol Contestant

I had a strange dream last night:

I dreamt that I had participated in the auditions for Singapore Idol and managed to get through to the second round, where they started eliminating almost half of the contestants, downsizing the group to only 12 of them.

The queue for the auditions was so long that it meandered on to about three floors down and out the glass doors. I waited till there were only a few contestants left before I jumped into the queue.

I sang Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" during the audition. Now the tune is stuck in my head. Argh! But during the 2nd round however, I was dumbstruck and couldn't think of a song to sing. I stood there with a panic-stricken look on my face, and it seemed like a whole 5 minutes before I was finally called off-stage. Strange thing was, the audience didn't jeer at me - they were emotionless; more like sacks of potatoes. Can you imagine how awkward I was feeling in my dream? Geez.

According to www.dreammoods.com, here’s what they say about my dream:

Competition – “To dream that you are in a competition represents your need to grow and expand. Learn the value of endurance and perseverance. Also be more assertive.”

Contest – “To dream that you enter or are in a contest indicates the need to prove yourself as worthy and deserving. If you win the contest, then it represents your self-confidence, pride, and/or conceit. If you lose the contest, then it indicates a lack of self-esteem. You may not be fully applying yourself to the task at hand.

Singing – “To sing in your dream, represents happiness, harmony and joy in some situation or relationship. You are uplifting others with your positive attitude and cheerful disposition. Singing is a way to celebrate, communicate and express your feelings.”

Looks like there’s a bit of truth in the interpretation. Hmm. Another important thing: NO, I do not have aspirations on becoming Singapore idol or whatever schmidol.
