I’m currently working on some Terms & Conditions which I need to let some lawyers read through first and I came across this (note the sentence in bold):
3. You agree not to use the Site to send, post, promote or transmit on any place on the Site, any message or material that is unlawful, harassing, libelous, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, hateful, vulgar, obscene, profane, threatening, racially or ethnically offensive or otherwise as determined by Nikon in its sole discretion to be objectionable. In this regard, please note that any material that (a) depicts nudity or genitalia in a manner calculated to titillate; (b) promotes sexual violence or sexual activity involving coercion or non-consent of any kind; (c) depicts a person or persons clearly engaged in explicit sexual activity; (d) depicts a person who is, or appears to be, under 16 years of age in sexual activity, in a sexually provocative manner or in any other offensive manner; (e) advocates homosexuality or lesbianism, or depicts or promotes incest, paedophilia, bestiality and necrophilia; (f) depicts detailed or relished acts of extreme violence or cruelty; or (g) glorifies, incites or endorses ethnic, racial or religious hatred, strife or intolerance is prohibited. Nikon reserves the right to delete any such material from the Site.
And under the law of the
Grrr. I read and re-read point (e) just to make sure that it says we are NOT allowed to permit such content. Lesbianism. Now it sounds like a cult of some sort.
Seriously, what can be so harmful about content which advocate homosexuality or lesbianism? This doesn’t mean your children are going to turn gay just because they saw an image of women cuddling or men kissing each other! Hello?! They might already be gay?
Why are we required to restrict such a subjective and openly discussed matter such as sexuality? I’m not here to contest the law but I’m sure you can imagine what my reaction was when I stumbled upon this tiny sentence amidst the 40+ pages of disclaimers, policies and other boring stuff. And to stipulate this amongst other terms such as “incest”, “pedophilia”, “bestiality” and “necrophilia”, is creating the impression that “homosexuality or lesbianism” is in fact a CRIME and that we are FREAKS who share the same mental condition as someone who fucks corpses or animals!
And then I heard a voice say, “Because the gah’ment said so and because it’s against the law to be gay.”
Ok. Sue, charge and deport me. I shall thus go back to the land where homosexuality is neither criminalized nor deemed as an act of immoral and/or unethical behaviour.
Two thumbs up for Loretta Chen who dared to blatantly portray such “debauchery” themes in 251, along with political ones.
Urgh. And screw that fucker who "tsked" Bunny and me at the escalator near Tangs. Too bad that fella was going up the escalator while we were heading downwards on the staircase. Otherwise...baaahhh.

What auntie! Not yet ok?! There are tons of other people out there who are more auntie-like than me!
At the age of 25, going on to 26, I behave less auntie-like than my peers.
Man, you should come and see for yourself. Haha.
