Phantom 2

I honestly never knew there was a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera until I caught the media preview for The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber last week!

Although I reckon a sequel would kill the magic that Phantom of the Opera had, I would still catch Love Never Dies simply because all "Phans" would, and I'm also curious to see what Andrew Lloyd Webber did to the music and plot (although to be honest, I've already read it in Wiki, haha). No matter what, I believe it'd be as magical.

Now that POTO has raised the bar of how I like my musicals to be, it's quite difficult trying to find something that could compare. Besides Les Miserables, no other musical has come close to the two. And no, Cirque productions are not musicals, although they do seem very much like it.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's music rarely disappoints. And Sierra Boggess is flawless:

Ramin Karimloo is charming, like all Phantoms should:

Hmm, Love Never Dies is running in Melbourne now till September. Why didn't it run when I was there last year? :( I wonder how long it'll take before it arrives on the sunny shores of Singapore. Definitely not next year since it'll be touring to Sydney. How frustrating.
