Last Weekend of 2007

We managed to have our own annual Christmas dinner at Angus Steakhouse. I made a reservation on Friday afternoon and informed the guy that I wanted to be seated next to the window. I was told that there were no tables left. So I said, "Ok, that's fine then."

I don't know if it's fate or pure coincidence, but we were given the exact table as last year! Right next to the window in our little corner. HAHAHA!

We were so glad that even the steak tasted better than before!

We celebrated the New Year with a round of mahjong with Bunny's friend and her boyfriend. I ended up losing a bit of money and wondering if it's a good or bad start to the year.

New Year lunch with my mom and brother went well. My mom loves the food at Sushi Tei, so we ate at the Paragon outlet, where Brad treated us to dessert, which was quite nice of her to do so.

And then we spent the entire day and night walking around Orchard Road, where the both of them accompanied me to hunt for a pair of knee-high black leather boots. I did see a pair in Paragon, but I wanted to look at other boots, so we ended up walking from Paragon to Taka, and then from Taka to Wisma, to Wheelock, to Far East, and then to Tangs. We then took a bus to Centrepoint to check out Robinson's and other stores there.

At the end of it all, I decided that I wanted the FIRST pair that I saw at Paragon (faints). So we made a u-turn and walked back to Paragon from Centrepoint and I finally purchased a pair of black synthetic leather boots. Phew!

Amazingly, neither one of them grumbled or complained (I guess because they did a bit of shopping along the way as well). How nice! I guess no one in their right mind would have accompanied me the entire day, walking up and down Orchard Road just to look for a pair of boots! No one would have been as patient as well.

It was nice spending the whole day walking around with the both of them, mainly because we hardly ever do so without one of us getting annoyed with the other. Yesterday's "family gathering" turned out pretty good and I'm happy that it did. :)
