Sold! My piano is sold!

Sold! For $350...

My 2nd last item from my childhood, my piano that has accompanied me silently throughout the past 20 years or so, has been sold to a piano dealer for a mere $350. I doubt it'd fetch anything more than that anyway.

During the negotiation between my mom and the piano dealer, she told him that it's the only thing left from my childhood, brought along with me all the way from Melbourne. After agreeing on a price, I emptied my piano chair and my mom took the key inside it. She handed it to me and told me not to give it away; it's now resting on my bookshelf. I'm thinking of getting an appropriate key ring for it.

The piano dealer did say that it'd cost around $180 to restore the keys but the exterior would cost a lot more. Due to its age, it has started to chip and because of this, he said that it brought down the value of my piano (I think they'll find any excuse to devalue it anyway).

Now that the dining hall is down by one piece of furniture, my house now looks a bit more spacious and brighter too. And perhaps I've made one kid happy, someone who might want to learn music but couldn't afford a piano. After it has been fully restored, I think it might fetch slightly below $1000. I hope it ends up in good hands.

Perhaps I should just pick up guitar or violin instead, since the instrument is more portable and also since my brother already has a guitar at home. I should try string instruments this time round...hmmm. I need to find the time to do so though.

So many things to learn, so little time to do so! And I haven't confirmed my swimming lessons too!
