Met two girls from Mediacorp during our Nikon night out at Robertson Quay. Luckily they were there because I had gotten rather bored of that place, plus they were gay (it was obvious). So I ended up entertaining them more than my company's marketing girl was. Was rather fun, made new acquaintances, drank a bit, played Big 2, pool and darts. Laughing at how silly and "straight" the women are at my company and how it would be better to not let them know that I am gay.
So we started talking about this issue of not revealing your sexual orientation to your colleagues. People in the corporate and IT sector are rather conservative and narrow-minded, so it wouldn't be too good to let too many people know. And then Sandy (one of the girls I got to know from Mediacorp) made a remark, "Aiya, please la. You already 'pi-cha lobang'. Once I walked in, I knew you're gay." Oops!
That was the first remark. The second one made by her colleague was worse, "Karen, I should introduce you this girl. She prefers those butchy kind of girls." WHA-????? ME??? Then I started telling her off for insulting me. Was hilarious though.
Still sticking to the topic on "Not allowing your colleagues know that you're gay" issue, I recieved a new friend request in Friendster yesterday. And it was my colleague from my team. Damn. Wonder if they'll take it well, plus I have my old blog address in my profile too. Mind you, they are really straighter than straight hetereosexuals I've ever met. They always like to joke about being lesbian or gay, and of course, Brokeback Mountain. It's not funny anymore.
Ok. Then came Saturday! Whoo, I love weekends because only then do I feel more at ease with myself, almost as if I have a split personality. Celebrated Suping's birthday yesterday. I went to town to get her a present and to collect the rings me and R. made long time ago. I also bought a scent called bergamot for aromatherapy. It's supposed to relieve anxiety, induce sleep and it's good for people with an oily complexion. Just the perfect oil for me.
Headed off to Clarke Quay for dinner and ended up having Spanish food. Clarke Quay has changed soooo much, I was amazed at how modern and clean it looks now. The initial plan was to go to 1 Night Stand, which is a stand-up comedy bar, but we ended up at Ministry of Sound (MOS) instead. It was my first time there, so I kind of got a bit lost inside. The place is rather huge and I would say the decor inside is not too bad. I went around exploring the different rooms and Suping's friends decided to stay in the R&B room (woe to me as I wanted to go to the Pure Room or the main room for trance). Had a drink and a shot, and then decided to go home. To be honest, we were rather bored because her colleagues were so segregated as one wanted to go to the Retro Room, the other trance, the other R&B, etc. We found it rather difficult to accomodate to their needs and therefore we left midway.
Will be meeting Brad, Tinn and Mack tonight, but before that I'll be meeting my long-lost secondary school friend, Agnes. Good that she found a girlfriend who lives in Bt. Batok, so we can meet up more often than before. Hahaha.
I shall lunch and take a nap afterwards. I feel that I have insufficient sleep despite how much I've been sleeping. Now I'm dreading this week, think there will be a bit of partying during the weekdays. Thursday is MOS, again. Sigh.
Ok, will post up some pics later on.
